Perrybrook has a bit of everything. Located in the village of Brockworth, it offers a setting for those who want a bustling life within reach of both city and country. Located just a few miles* from the Cotswolds, Brockworth is known as the venue for the annual cheese rolling down Cooper’s Hill. Taking place every Spring Bank Holiday, the event sees people line up at the top of the hill aiming to chase and catch a round of Double Gloucester. Traditionally featuring people from the village taking part, it now attracts competitors from all over the world. Brockworth is also the birthplace of Britain’s first jet aircraft, the Gloster Meteor, which was flown in the Second World War. The Hawker Hurricane fighter aircraft also has roots in the village. The village is well served, with plenty of local amenities to satisfy your immediate needs. There’s a Tesco Extra and Co-op for your grocery needs, a post-office and to quench your thirst after a long working week, several chain pubs and restaurants and the more traditional fayre of the Victoria Inn and Cross Hands pubs. If you need a new team to follow, there’s also Brockworth Rugby Club. For those who like living on the edge, the Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre offers both sports in a dry-slope environment, as well as laser tag and tubing, only a 10 minute drive from the village. For a spot of retail therapy, Gloucester city centre is only a 15 minute drive away, which is the home of the Gloucester Quays outlet village. Brockworth is situated four miles from J11 of the M5, or seven minutes by car, which makes travelling to Bristol and the south west or to Birmingham and the West Midlands very easy . Journey times by car to Cheltenham and Bristol are 15 minutes and 45 minutes respectively. The nearest train station is Gloucester Railway Station, five miles away. Castle Hill and Brockworth Primary are the local schools for infants and juniors. Henley Bank High School is the main secondary education provider in and around Brockworth. It is also the location for Brockworth Sports Centre, featuring a heated indoor swimming pool, multi-use sports hall, dance studio and all weather astro-turf pitch. *Distance (miles) and journey times are approximate and are taken from Google Maps.
