Saxon Meadows local area

Saxon Meadows is located on the outskirts of the village of South Cerney, in the heart of the Cotswolds. This thriving rural community is well served by a choice of local shops, takeaways and three pubs.  Further afield, the historic market town of Cirencester offers a good mixture of independent shops, well-known high street names, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The village is located within The Cotswold Water Park, an area made up of 150 lakes, mostly formed by gravel extraction. For outdoor lovers, South Cerney is ideal, with many of the lakes are now used for leisure activities including fishing and a variety of watersports; and there are miles of countryside in which to enjoy leisurely walks.   Golfers can enjoy the 18-hole South Cerney golf course situated two miles from Saxon Meadows. A number of primary and secondary schools are found in the villages and towns surrounding South Cerney, with Cirencester offering three secondary schools. For commuters, Saxon Meadows is five miles* from Cirencester with the A417 the main route to Gloucester (27 miles) and Cheltenham (24 miles), with the A 419 to Swindon (15 miles).
